Entry Level CAD Drafter
Position Description:
We currently have an opportunity for an entry level piping drafter.   Middough wants to invest in your success! This position will have opportunities to be involved with many industry sector projects including:
  • Chemical
  • Energy / Power / Utilities
  • Facilities
  • Manufacturing
  • Metals
  • Refining / Industrial Gas
Essential Functions:
  • Generate Piping and Equipment models using Autodesk Plant3D, Inventor, Revit, SolidWorks, and MicroStation.
  • Generate detail drawings including isometrics, orthographic plans and sections to support the Piping Discipline Leads.
  • Support the Project Lead or Discipline Lead to complete the project scope.
  • Interact with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information and maintain good communication throughout the project.
  • Assist in field observations, checking installations, and problem-solving activities.
  • Able to be creative and flexible in thought process to deliver ultimate Project Solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical degree preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with Autodesk Products
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Basic Mathematical skills are required
  • Good mechanical inclination with spatial understanding is preferred
Additional Attributes:
  • Eager to learn Plant3D and other required software packages, including self-study outside of work
  • Must be well organized, accurate, thorough, and have strong verbal and written skills
  • High passion for doing quality work and high attention to detail and completeness
  • Work independently and be able to self-manage work tasks efficiently based on board instruction
  • Able to work in accordance with set schedules
  • Must be able to receive constructive criticism and embrace guidance from others
  • Willing to travel occasionally if necessary
In addition:
  • Overtime may be necessary as workload’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Qualified candidates must have the ability to climb.
  • In some cases, the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures.
  • May require extended overnight travel to another client location/facility or the home office.
  • Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
