Job Description

This position reports directly to the Pharmacist in Charge. The Staff Pharmacist provides prescription product and appropriate service and consultation to every customer, including appropriate clinical services.  The Staff Pharmacist supervises pharmacy interns/externs, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy associates. The Staff Pharmacist ensures compliance with federal and state laws and store policies and procedures or as otherwise directed by the Pharmacist-In- Charge.

  • Drive pharmacy sales results by ensuring pharmacy team members provide a consistent high quality customer/patient experience.
  • Takes all steps required to fill prescriptions and operate a pharmacy in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assists with and respond in a courteous and professional manner to questions from customers, physicians, and vendors.
  • Ensures that all tasks due to be completed during shift are completed prior to the end of the day.
  • Offers advice and professional consultation; acts as a role model to the pharmacy team; efficiently handles customer complaints; and directs pharmacy operations to keep wait times to a minimum.
  • Ensures that drug orders are properly processed and completed the same day they are received.
  • Ensures that security measures and controls are followed at all times to protect company assets.
  • Supports the PIC with achieving Company goals and executing programs. This would include, but not be limited to, RX count growth, Inventory Management, and Labor Management.
  • Administer immunizations and perform clinical services including but not limited to MTM platforms and adherence programs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to readily adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand.
  • Computer literate and comfortable with assorted software programs.
  • Responsiveness, reliability, ability to express assurance/confidence, ability to express empathy, professionalism.
  • PC skills in Windows-based applications.
  • Advanced verbal/written communication skill.
  • Team-oriented & customer service focus.
  • Ability to identify process improvements, self-directed, and practical application of knowledge and skills learned in training.

  • A graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree
  • Must maintain a valid pharmacy license in the state in which you are practicing.
  • Successful completion of APHA approved Immunization Training Course.
  • Maintain a valid CPR certification.
  • Minimum of two years prior pharmacist experience is preferred.

  • Individuals may need to stand for excessive amounts of time. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting product or moving materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. The job may on occasion include lifting up to 50 pounds for materials, samples, reports, etc.
  • Travel requirements of this position include; local, domestic travel on occasions to attend training sessions and review marketplace conditions.
  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical retail pharmacy environment.
