Job Description

Kelly Services is looking for a Polymer Operator in Athens, GA. Pay - $16.00-16.80/hour Length of assignment- indefinite, possibility of getting hired on. Shift-  3rd - Sun - Thurs, 10:45pm -7:15am with OT as needed   Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks related to synthetic Absorbable Polymer manufacturing in an FDA-regulated environment. Typical tasks include batch equipment charging, discharging, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance as well as raw material preparation and handling.    1. Manage levels of raw materials and supplies in order to support production demands and avoid expiration. 2. Ensure production schedule is being followed. 3. Demonstrate an ability to interface with data processor for data collection. 4. Demonstrate ability to work independently and/or in teams. 5. Work with experienced operator to clean, prepare, start up and shutdown Polymer production equipment in accordance with applicable process specifications. 6. Work with experienced operator to understand processes and be able to effectively troubleshoot equipment and/or processes. 7. Maintain clean working environment. 8. Adhere to good documentation practices. 9. Ability to monitor process parameters using instrumentation to ensure proper functioning, making process adjustments as required, demonstrating a working knowledge of the process interface. 10. Ability to accurately prepare and review Device History Records (electronic or hard copy). 11. Must be able to work independently to clean, prepare, start up and shutdown Polymer production equipment in accordance with applicable process specifications. 12. Demonstrate ability to successfully change and archive chart recorder media as appropriate. 13. Demonstrate ability to successfully complete Work Orders in accordance with applicable specifications. 14. Demonstrates an understanding and ability to monitor the process and environmental data streams. 15. Understand processes and be able to effectively troubleshoot equipment and/or process. 16. Demonstrate ability to successfully produce Dodecanol initiated Vicryl Polymer. 17. Demonstrate ability to successfully produce Coating Copolymer. 18. Understand how power and equipment failures can impact production. 19. Monitor inventory levels of specified chemicals and arrange for replenishing as appropriate.   Requirements: 1. High school education, G.E.D. or equivalent skills, experience, or training. 2. Basic computer and database management skills.   3. Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills. 4. Statistical and analytical problem solving. 5. Experience with basic math such as decimals, conversions, percentages, fractions and tolerances are required. 6. Strong working knowledge of the metric system. 7. Experience in mechanics and electrical/electronic skills highly desirable. 8. Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools such as a torque wrench, drill, plug gauges, hydraulics, propane torches, etc. 9. Ability to take accurate readings on test and monitoring equipment such as vacuum gauges, viscometer, Melt index machine, etc.  10. Knowledge of safety, GMP, and ISO 13485. 11. Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manufacturing equipment required. 12. Good communication written and oral skills. 13. Previous experience working with chemicals.
