Schaeffler, a global industrial and automotive supplier of high precision engineered products, is seeking an experienced Engineer - Application(Fluid & Pneumatics), primarily focusing on compressors, axial piston pumps, gear pumps, and vane pumps. This role will support and grow Schaeffler’s business with OEM and MRO customers who manufacture and repair hydraulic and pneumatics equipment. The Application Engineer will also lead us in the hydraulics/pneumatics industry and have a thorough understanding of the industry and end user applications, in order to introduce new products to the market. Schaeffler capabilities include one of the largest bearing product lines in the industry, specialized products for the hydraulics industry, a suite of analysis tools, testing capabilities, and a group of Advanced Technology Engineers. 


Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Represent and promote Schaeffler Engineering during visits to the customers, exhibitions, customer on-site visits, and other opportunities
  • Formulate customer written design proposals and presentations by obtaining application data, information, evaluating design information, calculations, and test results 
  • Complete design failure mode effects analysis, returned bearing analysis, identify testing/inspection requirements, complete design reviews, and approve prototypes
  • Manage projects through completion using project management methods
  • Support customers through technical knowledge in anti-friction bearing design and fluid power applications


Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3 - 5 years' industry experience preferred

  • Business development and/or project management experience preferred 

  • Bearing application experience is a plus

  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings with advanced CAD skills and Pro-E systems experience is preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to travel up to 25%
