**Position Summary**

This position is a Process Operator Lead/Supervisor role to direct the Ion Exchange departments at the facility. This position requires adherence to Evoqua behavior-based safety and lean management systems to assure functions are performed with the highest attention to employee safety and environmental compliance. Directs high-functioning team of Operators and drives lean management. This function will focus on steering teams/departments to complete a variety of tasks throughout the facility to ensure both internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded. This position is directly responsible for leading and coordinating various departments to meet required productions goals.

**Core Responsibilities and Tasks**

1. Adhere to environmental, health & safety programs and polices to ensure work areas are safe and compliant with environmental regulations

2. Mentors and Trains Process Operators

3. Coordinates team activities, sets daily expectations for safety, quality and scheduling

4. Drives continuous improvement and conducts housekeeping/ 5S audits

5. Identifies and reports equipment issues to maintenance. Able to diagnose and troubleshoot minor equipment issues

6. Must be able to understand and perform all facets of Process Operator duties within each of their own specific area and fill in for process operator to meet demands which include, monitoring all flow rates, monitor the PLC and check all valves continually for correct operation

7. Create and maintain safe working environment within the organization

8. Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations

9. Must be able to function in a team environments; usually works with little to no supervision, works independently and has ability to lead/coach/guide/motivate.

10. Escalate production issues that threaten the companies' ability to service customers.

11. Understanding of operating permits for environmental compliance

12. Adhere to product quality standards and related documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Safety Analysis and Standard Work

13. Accurately complete final documentation of the batch

14. Proficient in MS office with skillsets to perform computer entry.

**Position Requirements**

+ High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED)

+ Five years experience in chemical processing and/or batch processing

+ Understanding of water and wastewater chemistry and ability to apply knowledge to water treatment and metals precipitation.

+ Experience with Water Softening and Ion Exchange

+ A.A. in Chemistry is a plus
