About the Position
This time limited position will be housed in the Hattiesburg WIN Job Center. Will provide intensive services to meet the employment needs of disabled veterans and other eligible veterans with the maximum emphasis directed toward serving those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, including homeless veterans and veterans with barriers to employment. Will be actively involved in outreach efforts to increase program participation among those with the greatest barriers to employment. Will provide case management services to eligible veterans identified as needing intensive services. Will work with employers, veteran's organizations and community-based organizations to develop job and training opportunities for veterans with special emphasis on veterans with service-connected disabilities. Applicants must be honorably discharged military veterans with a minimum of 180 days of service on active duty. Applicants must supply a valid DD214. Applicants must have a valid driver's license as daily travel is required to multiple office location. All potential applicants are required to pass an extensive background check. Must be able to work in a public center that provides in-person service to customers of various programs. Will perform other duties as assigned. May work in homeless shelters, correctional facilities and other locations that may serve veterans with barriers to employment.
What you'll need to be Successful
Good interpersonal/customer service skills, good verbal/written communication skills, time management and organizational skills. Must possess outstanding computer skills that includes proficiency with internet-based applications and email.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of experience OR an Associate's Degree and 2-3 years of experience.
