Job Description

The QTI Group has recently partnered with Williams Furnace Company, a California heating, venting and cooling company to recruit for an Engineering Lead. This leadership role will be responsible for leading the research and design of new heat exchangers, combustion systems, integrating electro-mechanical systems, and other HVAC components. The Engineering lead will also provide guidance and supervision of junior engineers as well as regular customer interaction, developing project plans, and meetings with regulatory agencies (UL, CSA,GAMA & ARI).


  • Perform detailed engineering analysis and design for assigned projects, using judgment in developing and evaluating alternatives on moderately complex assignments; develop plans and specifications; provide technical direction to other engineers.
  • Successfully execute Project Manager duties including: determining project scope, establishing schedules and assigning project staff, processing appropriate paperwork, and other duties as required to ensure quality and profitability; may participate in sales presentations.
  • Organize, draft and coordinate production of assigned sections of various reports and drawings to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
  • Responsible for supervision, development, and evaluation of one or more employees.
  • Develop product specifications; perform engineering calculations and analyses; test components and assemblies for compliance with standards.
  • Ensure that all work is in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Minimum 8 years technical and mechanical engineering experience is required.
  • Design experience for manufacturing and efficiency is critical.
  • Experience with Thermal transfer, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, electro-mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC’s and web hosted applications required, including Auto CAD & Solidworks.
  • Must be a self-motivated, flexible team player with strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to learn quickly and work independently.
