IT Assistant Director

The Information Technology Assistant Director assist the IT Director in maintaining the Agency's computer network and phone system, conducts technical computer assistance for staff, and handles staff computer requests.

Minimum Qualifications:  AAS degree in Computer Information Services or related degreeExperience w/Windows 2008 servers, Windows XP and Windows 7/10 operating systems, programming, and troubleshooting computer/phone systems required.  Job requires traveling within area served by the program.  Must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.                                                  

Preferred Qualifications:  BS/BADegree in computer sciences or related field.  Demonstrated experience working in a Windows environment, operating, programming, and troubleshooting computer systems.

Personal Attributes:  Must believe and act in accordance with the Agency's Mission Statement and abide by the Family Enrichment Network's standards of conduct. Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and communicate effectively with others.  Must be able to work with persons of varying socio-economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

Essential Duties:

  • Offers user support to staff and parents in the operation and application of computer hardware/software.
  • Creates and re-designs programs to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Keeps abreast of advancements in computer technology; shares relevant computer information with staff.
  • Preview and recommend new equipment and software purchases.
  • Responsible for maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard system from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data.
  • Continue with self-education program to ensure that staff is up to date with the latest operating systems.
  • Ensure that all servers and workstations are kept up to the latest patch levels.
  • Daily administration tasks on the network include such things as:  adding and deleting users, checking logs of network use, checking logs of Internet use, and monitoring network activity.
  • Monitors intrusion detection.  Repairs security issues with Firewall, Virus, mailware, spyware, and other issues.
  • Provide user level technical support for end users, computers, printers, etc.
  • Provide user level training on daily applications used, including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer related skills.
  • Monitor printers, copiers, and fax machines to make sure they are working properly and getting regular maintenance.
  • Provide High degree of professionalism and end user satisfaction and work well with others.
