This position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Seeking a self-motivated opto-mechanical assembly engineer who can work well both independently and in a team environment. This position will support a space flight program for our customer. The candidate will be responsible for leading a group of 6-10 mechanical technicians in the assembly of space flight hardware.
The tasks to be performed include but are not limited to:
•Working with and leading/mentoring mechanical assembly technicians
•Writing and implementing assembly procedures
•Environmental testing of hardware, to include EMI/EMC, TVAC testing, Vibe testing
Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to program information
Education / Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
•Strong demonstrated experience leading a team of mechanical technicians
•Familiarity with clean room environment and processes
•Experience with hardware safety processes
•Cognizant of QA processes
•Experience working with a cross functional team of QA, contamination, and safety engineers
•Experience writing assembly procedures
•Experience with environmental testing (EMI/EMC, TVAC testing, Vibe testing, etc.)
•Familiarity with mechanical ground support equipment
•Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
•Master’s degree in a STEM discipline
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks, and priorities concurrently
