We are looking for Technical Writers with 1-5 years of experience or entry level! This is a 40 hours/week job with a flexible schedule and no weekends (unless you choose to help cover some shifts, in which you can be paid over time).
Brightwing staffs a team of Technical Illustrators for a well known large client in the Dallas/Richardson area. This opportunity offers entry level candidates the chance to gain exposure, training, and experience within technical writing to jump start their career. This team love to take entry-level candidates with Adobe CS, XML, and/or HTML/CSS experience and train them on the tools particular to their projects. Must have some form of Adobe CS, XML, and/or HTML/CSS experience to be considered even if it is college course work. Must have excellent communication skills and work well under pressure.

Responsible for planning, organizing, illustrating, and editing operational, maintenance, or test procedure manuals.
Interfaces with internal clients to produce best-in-class technical documentation.
Researches engineering schematics, technical design specifications, interface design, design diagrams, and test specifications with design engineers.
Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineer write-ups, and drawing packages.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Works with product lines to ensure keywords are integrated for search engine optimization (SEO).
Manages tasks from a job queue.
Works closely with product lines to meet RTM and other release deadlines.
Ensures all parts of the document, including illustrations, are complete before release.
Facilitates reviews necessary for release process.
Prepares documents and other necessary forms for official release of documents.
Tracks and records job status and completion dates.
Responsible for inputting key data points for monthly reporting and metrics.
Reviews and communicates documentation feedback from customers to the product lines.
Works with internal clients to ensure all documentation standards and guidelines are followed.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Reviews all documentation to ensure compliance with Standard Technical English (STE) writing practices.
Edits all documentation to ensure readability by a global audience.
Responsible for using computer based tools to format and prepare copy for technical documentation which conform to established quality standards.
Helps coordinate the layout and manual organization of documentation.
A Bachelor's degree- PREFERABLY in Technical Communications
Good communication and e-mail skills
Ability to counsel internal clients
Ability to learn web technologies including content management, content database, and SharePoint
Word processing experience, technical typing, reading, writing and basic arithmetic skills
Familiarity with desktop publishing equipment
Ability to execute quickly and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail
Sense of urgency and determination to complete all tasks
Exceptional service-orientation and team mentality
