The duties of the Metal Recovery Technician include the safe and efficient operation and mechanical repair of all equipment associated with the residue system, ferrous system, and nonferrous system including the movement of all material throughout the facility.

The Metal Recovery Technician duties include the ability to monitor and maintain ash  processing and ash sampling equipment, as well as the ability to operate Frontend Loaders, Skid Steers, Man lifts, Lull’s, Forklifts, ash and ferrous crane operation. Responsibilities consist of the operation and maintenance of rare earth magnets, belts conveyors, motors and gearboxes, vibrating pans, grizzlies, screw conveyors, ECS magnets, drag conveyors, pug mills and PLC control center operation.

In addition the mechanical ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance including gearbox and motor change outs, ECS, and conveyor belt change outs, screen and spring replacements, structural weld repairs and proficient in the use of Oxy-Acetylene torches and plasma arc.

Position Requirements

HS Diploma or GED is required.

Minimum of 3 years mechanical/ operation of heavy industrial equipment. Understanding and proficient in operation of hand tools, power tools rigged skills and SMAW/ MIG welding. Ability to coordinate metal load out maintenance events.

Strong Mechanical aptitude and SMAW structural weld certification a plus. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and work in overhead positions required harness and or safety line.
