A Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is needed for a large regional organization! BI Engineer works with analysts and business stakeholders to understand a business problem, need or opportunity in order to gather requirements, and then to design and build high performance solutions/reports focusing on maintainability, automation and the end-user.

Responsibilities include:


  • Creates scalable, maintainable, and reliable business intelligence infrastructure.

  • Partners and collaborates with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data for wide variety of potentially disparate data sources from business systems/trading partners. Tunes application and query performance using SQL database tools.

  • Interfaces with business partners to gather/ define requirements for solutions/reports.

  • Continually improves ongoing team reporting processes, automating or simplifying self-service.

  • Designs, implements and supports reporting infrastructure providing secured access to large datasets.

  • Models data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built/static reports.

  • Owns design, development, and maintenance of reports and dashboards, which help drive key business decisions.

  • Develops and executes ETL jobs and SSRS Reports from data marts and operational systems using Microsoft Business Intelligence tool sets.

  • Assists in process design and deployment, performance optimization and hands-on development.

  • Assists in support and maintenance of data marts, reports, and ETL jobs.

  • Ensures a clean turnover of a developer's product from development to test, from test to QA, from QA to user acceptance, and for ongoing maintenance.

  • Develops, modifies, or proposes datasets necessary to meet reporting and analytics needs.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining systems that leverage BI and big data analytics technologies.



Education & Education


  • Bachelors in Computer Science, or relevant field.

  • Advanced degree or Certification as Microsoft Product Specialist in SQL Server desired but not required.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with direct data analysis and data management, preferable in a health care environment.

  • 2+ years' relevant experience in a business intelligence role, such as data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology, or experience in analytics, business analysis, or comparable analytics solutions.

  • 2+ years' experience using business intelligence reporting tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSMS, SSIS, Cubes, Cognos, Tableau)

  • Experience with at least one programming language (preferably C# or MS SQL) and with MS SQL Server and MS SQL Server Administration
