SUMMARY OF MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Production Supervisor ensures compliance with Safety and Quality standards, manages assigned production lines employees and/or shift, and delivers production targets.

REPORTING TO: Production Manager



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensures that employees comply with applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures. Drives safety culture through proactive countermeasures such as Safety Training, Find-it Fix-it and safety audits.
  2. Trains and manages production employees on the assigned production lines and/or shifts.
  3. Ensures effective training for production employees, with relevant Standard Work/Work Instructions. Maintains accurate training content and record/matrix.
  4. Recruits, motivates, develops, and retains high-performing Production employees.
  5. Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production lines and/or shift. Manages production employees Time & Attendance; and overtime planning/approval. Drives employee and team engagement.
  6. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations e.g., regular performance feedback, mid-year and year-end performance review. Manages performance gaps through effective Performance Improvement Plans, and when necessary, via discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  7. Oversees production on assigned production lines and/or shift by Key Performance Indicators/Metrics e.g., Safety, Quality, OTD, WO accuracy, attainment to standards, and cost. Updates Production Manager, other team members and stakeholders on real-time basis. Ensures production plans are implemented and deadlines are met consistently.
  8. Coordinates with Production Planner in issuing work orders; prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations. Informs production planning department, Production Manager, and other stakeholders of production status (and potential delays) through Daily Management System meetings.
  9. Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment. Follows escalation plan in troubleshooting issues that arise. Identifies, investigates, and resolves delays in shift.
  10. Drives Continuous Improvement (CI) culture to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement through appropriate CI tools.
  11. Facilitates effective operator maintenance and repairs of equipment. Notifies Maintenance department promptly when equipment problems arise.
  12. Ensures production documentation and data-entry (e.g., work orders, production data, etc.) are completed accurately and timely.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to mitigate conflict.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  3. Ability to problem solve and improve processes.
  4. Demonstrated computer skills and spreadsheet experience (Excel preferred).
  5. MRP (Material Resource Planning) Knowledge is preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Highschool diploma or GED.
  2. Minimum of 1-year experience in people management preferred.
  3. Minimum of 2-year experience in manufacturing required, and preferably in high volume environment.

  6. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving, mechanical parts and equipment.
  7. Noise exposure is moderate.


Mental/Visual Demands:

  1. Clear vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions.
  2. Distance and peripheral vision are required to monitor production operation, and for safety.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $72,100.00 - $108,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
