Senior Staff AccountantCompensation:
$50000.00 to $90000.00 yearly
Primary Function Lead and manage multiple accounting and tax engagements to deliver top quality accounting and tax services to our clients in a variety of industries. This “hands on” detail oriented, dynamic individual is responsible for leading the detailed planning, management, and execution of accounting and tax engagements provided to our clients. As ability to assume greater levels of responsibility is demonstrated, more complex technical areas will be assigned.
Accounting • Manage, plan, and schedule direct reports to ensure client engagements are done within budget, timely, and in an accurate and efficient manner. • Develop long-term detail oriented relationships with clients through exceptional client service when performing client engagements. • Provide for QuickBooks consulting and training for new or current users of the software. • Prepare and perform review of client accounting and monthly/annual close of trial balance using client provided documentation.
• Prepare compiled financial statements for Individuals, Corporations, Not-Profit entities, and Partnerships, including work papers, accounting and adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and client books and records. • Perform accounting research. • Train and supervise accounting staff to perform accounting tasks to include AR, AP, inventory, FV accounting for financial instruments, self-insurance, debt, accrued expenses, pre-paids, fixed assets, payroll, and other asset and liability accounting using the designated software. • Ensure compliance with established accounting methods, policies, procedures and principles. • Engage in special projects as requested.
Tax • Prepare, review, and manage client deliverables including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations and projections, and write-up work for all entity types (Individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Fiduciary, and Non-Profit). • Working knowledge of payroll and sales tax returns. • Respond to and communicate with clients, IRS, and state agents in connection with inquiries and tax notices. • Engage with clients and business owners about tax matters. • Schedule planning, deployment of tax process and provide continuous year-round support and education. • Perform tax research and analyze and interpret general technical tax literature and government regulations. • Assist with employee training for new hires and ongoing employee training.
Minimum requirements • Bachelors or Masters Degree in accounting or finance • EA or CPA Certification is ideal or CPA exam experience in • 3+ years of prior experience in public accounting • Experience preparing individual, business, not for profit, real estate and exempt organization tax returns • Strong accounting and analytical skills • Strong computer skills: proficiency in the QuickBooks, UltraTax, Fixed Asset CS, Excel, Word, Outlook • Ability to sit for extensive period of times and lift up to 30 lbs • Florida Driver’s license and reliable transportation
