Job Description


A leader and resource to all employees while acting as a “working supervisor”, overseeing the production processes of his/her department. This position serves to direct others to maximize production while taking action to achieve safety, quality, customer satisfaction and innovation. The Production Supervisor works with multiple areas, such as engineering and quality assurance to provide solutions to problems and to effectively communicate information within the team structure.


  • Responsible for overseeing and providing support to all employees on designated shift.
  • Provides technical support for quality and process questions when quality and engineering are not available.
  • Ensures all safety, environmental, and QMS standards and procedures are followed per OSHA and ISO 14001 and 13485 requirements.
  • Is the contact person for all personnel issues, i.e., absences, safety, employee performance issues, etc.
  • Performs all tasks associated with tending machines, such as, loading and unloading parts, changing filters, checking and maintaining fluid levels.
  • Supports Lean initiatives in day-to-day production processes.
  • Lead person for 5S in his/her area.
  • Ensures GEMBA boards are kept up to date and can effectively report the progress of the production area during GEMBA walks.
  • Responsible for performing performance reviews on time.
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by management as deemed appropriate.


  • Ability to provide leadership.
  • Able to multi-task while providing support to less skilled machine operators.
  • Knowledge of production work schedules.
  • Knowledge to perform CMM dimensional inspection.
  • Able to apply principles of GD& T.
  • Possesses basic computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, etc.
  • Effectively communicates between shift changes to ensure production schedule is maintained.
  • Able to train less experienced operators.
  • Applies all knowledge of 5S to his/her area and to the shop floor.
  • Follows all PPE requirements for all employees on assigned shift.


  • High School diploma and three to five years experience.


  • A high degree of hand-eye coordination.
  • Mobility to bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine, and move from one work station to another, alternately sitting and standing.
  • Lift objects up to 25 pounds throughout the day.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work more than 8 hours per day and weekends.
  • Ability to read fine print.
  • Ability to wear proper PPE.
