UHealth IT has an exciting opportunity for a Security Analyst 1. The Security Analyst I works to ensure the access to information systems are appropriate and in accordance with the users’ job role. The security analyst I handles a broad spectrum of security related tasks to the enhancement of the security posture of UHealth and for the protection of information assets. The Security Analyst I will work closely with team members to assess and troubleshoot systems access requests. The security analyst will perform periodic assessments of systems access, terminations, security violations, promote security awareness, and ensure compliance with security policies. Moreover, the incumbent's role is to support the organization’s identity and access management program.

  • Administer life cycle of user accounts and access privileges in the organization’s identity management system to ensure that the right people have access to the right resources.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IAM issues.

  • Participate in IAM audits and review access control reports to identify potential risks.

  • Develop and deliver IAM training to both technical and non-technical staff.

  • Provides support for security related issues.

  • Creates end-user documentation to include security templates, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Participates in operational workflow testing, validation, and end-user acceptance.

  • Completes workflow documentation.

  • Performs periodic checks to ensure that data is entered and retrieved correctly and that all regulations regarding confidentiality and security are being followed.

  • Provides day-to-day application support, completes service tickets, and participates in on call rotation.

  • Assists with troubleshooting issues with members of other teams or business units.

  • Assists with communication to assigned group regarding new features/functionality, new workflows, training system availability and downtime procedures.

  • Understands security compliance with organizational policies, laws and regulation (HIPPA, NIST, etc.)

  • Collaborate with IT teams and business owners during the IT Governance process to ensure that information security issues are addressed, and risks identified throughout the project life cycle.

  • Manage projects related to risk management, mitigation and response, compliance and user awareness.

  • Support Healthcare IT Risk Manager Development of processes and procedures for UHealth’s Cybersecurity Program, specific to risk assessment and risk management program optimization.

  • Work directly with Information System asset owners, vendors and cybersecurity team members to facilitate information security risk analysis and risk management processes.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for performing vendor risk assessments to improve overall vendor risk posture.

  • Provides objective evaluations of security controls, mechanisms and goals in comparison to best practices.

  • Adheres to Service Level Agreements for incident management.

  • Adheres to UHealth IT standards.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

  • CISSP, CIST, CIAM, Security + certifications required.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • 2 years of experience in Identity and Access Management or a related field.

  • Knowledge of IAM concepts and best practices.

  • Experience with IAM software, such as Microsoft Active Directory, SailPoint, OKTA, etc.

  • Familiarity with database concepts and relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of directory services (LDAP, Azure/Active Directory, etc.)

  • Experience with RBAC, SSO, MFA, PAM, SAML

  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols (SSH, TLS, etc.).

  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc.)
