This position provides support to the Quality Systems department to ensure compliance to applicable quality system standards and customer requirements as necessary. The position does not directly supervise other personnel. Internal contacts include management, supervisors, peers, and hourly production personnel. External contacts include customers and suppliers.
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, this position is accountable for:
' Document Control: System development, maintenance, and reporting. Coordinating plant Quality Systems documentation including, but not limited to; the Quality Manual, Standard Practice Books (STPB), Work Instructions, and Forms. Coordinating periodic document reviews.
' Record Retention: Serve as the on-site coordinator for the off-site record storage. Duties include providing training to internal users, coordinating yearly file transfers, maintaining document room charts, and assisting with record retrieval for special projects.
' Supplier Quality: Maintenance of the Approved Supplier Database and supplier audit schedules. Includes sending Supplier surveys as scheduled, reviewing returned surveys, and maintaining supplier information, certifications, and files.
' Internal Audits: Coordination of the internal audit system to include planning, scheduling, auditing and reporting.
' Customer Audits: Assist with customer audits. Activities to include; audit planning and internal preparation, preparing data packages, serving as audit escort, and coordinating post audit activities as necessary. Completing customer surveys in a timely manner.
' Corrective/Preventative Action System: Management of the internal CAR system to include logging, tracking, reviewing, reporting, responding to customers, and internal follow- activities. Facilitating CARs as necessary to establish timely root cause correction, verification of effectiveness and closure.
' Departmental Support: Preparation of departmental reports such as corrective actions, internal audits and management review data as necessary. Assisting with departmental projects.
Minimum Qualifications (be specific):
At least 3 years of experience supporting Quality Systems in a heavy manufacturing environment.
The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of Quality Systems standards (ex ISO9000, AS9100, QS9000 etc.) and concepts.
A general knowledge of the forging process and associated standard practices is preferred.
