Leads and manages sales activities of for the Protein sales team. Responsible for managing three to six team members with a total business of more than $30MM.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Strategic Planning: Provides input in development and implementation of strategic plans to meet organizational goals.   Provides long range planning ideas and implements tactics to execute. Develops customer relationships to position Griffith Foods as a leader in our segment. Communicates customer requirements to improve service and performance.   
  • Active involvement in sales forecasting activities to support NWC goals while still meeting customer requirements.
  • Customer Development: Penetrates key Protein customers by broadening the N.A. portfolio scope of products sold.
  • Develop strategic initiatives to achieve and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Make regular sales calls to develop and maintain relationships with strategic customers and sales team.
  • Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers’ needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Align with marketing, customer service, R&D, culinary, and others to ensure the broader team is focused and informed of key customer opportunities and challenges.
  • Manages administrative/operational effectiveness functions including S&OP, information request, regulatory requests, legal requests, BORs, competitive intelligence, results tracking and analysis, pipeline management and sales reports.
  • Leads Protein sales team and personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • The Protein team consists of 3 Account Directors. Will also oversee/support a shared Inside Sales representative. 
  • This leader will align with Custom Culinary ®, Innova, the Global team, and the NA team to support growth of mutual customers as appropriate.
  • Make recommendations and execute decisions best-fit customers, pricing, and growth strategies.
  • Ensures portfolio of products matches our customers’ evolving needs and the marketing trends/insights.
     
     Education & Experience: 
        
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
  • Six years of top level sales experience.
  • Develop, coach and manage 3-6 direct reports with success.
  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time.
