The Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution and closure of assigned departmental initiatives.
Counsels sponsors, helping them through the project charter process.
Creates project charters, including: goals, key metrics and success measures, scope, timing, budget, deliverables, risks, resources, etc..
Updates and presents project charters to key stakeholders and audiences.
Completes detailed project plan documents, including: work breakdown structure, project schedule, roles and responsibilities (e.g. RACI), etc..
Presents project plan documents to key stakeholders and audiences.
Manages project execution from start to finish.
Meets regularly with project team members to:
o Clearly communicate expectations.
o Track progress on assigned tasks.
o Proactively identify issues; and, develops plans to resolve issues
o Positively and effectively leads, coaches, and motivates project team members.
Meets regularly with project sponsors to:
o Clearly and candidly communicate progress toward project milestones and project status, providing insights into project health.
o Proactively escalate issues.
o When needed, provide recommendations for bringing projects back into alignment with expected outcomes.
Determine if / when external contractors or consultants are required to complete tasks within the project plan.
Completes post-project evaluations to determine project outcomes.
Completes lessons learned.
Presents outcomes and findings to key stakeholders and audiences.
Assembles and archives project documents after the project completion.
