Oak Plains Academy is seeking a Part-Time Transporter.  The hours are varied and the ideal candidate has the ability to work different schedules and shifts.  This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a flexible schedule, but who can work as needed for transporting the youth in our care.

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 90-bed residential treatment center located on 25 acres of rolling hills in Ashland City, Tennessee. Oak Plains provides psychiatric and neurological treatment services for males and females, ages 5-17, who have significant history of emotional or behavioral issues. The clinical programs at Oak Plains Academy have been designed to address the needs of children and adolescents with a primary psychiatric/ neurological diagnosis. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers work closely with each resident to assist them to achieve there therapeutic and education goals.

Job Requirements

The Transportation Coordinator serves the company by making sure that residents and their families are transported to and from destinations in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must adhere to all transportation policies and procedures.

  • Participate in scheduling appointments.

  • Transport residents/family in a timely fashion.

  • Follow all laws while driving (speed limit, seat belt, reckless driving, texting, cell phone use).

  • Communicate concerns to immediate supervisor without delay.

  • Implement and orient employees of the Patient Transportation Safety.

  • File all transportation Request Forms.

  • Notify requestor if the transportation is practical or not as soon as possible.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate all Service Excellence Standards and Principles.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (copy of diploma required).

  • Pass Background Screens: fingerprints, drug screen, federal and state background checks

  • Must have a current Tennessee driver’s license with F Endorsement

  • Must not have multiple violations for driving without insurance

  • Cannot have more than two at-fault accidents three (3) years consecutive

  • Cannot have more than three moving violations three (3) years consecutive

  • Must not have driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated convictions

  • Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy. Satisfactory health, strength and stamina to meet the physical, mental and emotional demands and stressors that position requires: walking, running, standing, lifting, irregular working hours, and assisting with the restraint.

  • This position requires use of "Handle with Care" protective hold procedures as a last resort for protection of residents and staff.

Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, TN, Oak Plains Academy offers psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 11-17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues.

Oak Plains Academy provides an on-site school dedicated to providing quality, individualized education for students in elementary, middle and high school grade levels. The school provides each resident with a structured educational setting. Educators direct studies to each student’s specific skill level, therefore, classes are small and provide modified curriculums and one-on-one attention.

Individualized Educational Plans (IEP’s) are developed and maintained for our exceptional students throughout the year. Residents are able to graduate from Oak Plains Academy with a regular high school diploma, a special education diploma, or earn their GED.

The educational programs are accredited by the Tennessee Department of Education and comply with federal law commonly known as IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
