Alyeska Pipeline Service Company is recruiting for a capable, energetic, experienced Government Relations Liaison in Anchorage, Alaska.

Under the direction of the Corporate Communications Director this position communicates about all aspects of Alyeska operations and issues with local, state and federal government stakeholders.
This role also has the following accountabilities:
•Monitors legislative and regulatory activity impacting TAPS, providing regular updates on issues and advises on potential actions.
•Coordinates with staff in regulatory relations and the law department.
•Serves as company contact with stakeholders in Alaska and DC to strengthen Alyeska’s relationships.
•Participates in trade association activity as an APSC representative.
•Arranges meetings for Alyeska executives and VIP tours as needed.
•Coordinates employee civic engagement program.
•Understands Alyeska corporate and governance structure, company interface with regulatory bodies, basic pipeline operations and company strategy.
•Understands and has knowledge of local, state and federal government processes.
•Coordinates with government relations contractors.

•Four (4) year degree or equivalent related experience
•Four years of related experience
•Advanced communications skills
•Broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge of external affairs, public relations, government affairs, and communication strategies and policies
•Broad and comprehensive understanding of federal, state and local government agencies
•Master’s degree in Political Science or related field of study
•Eight (8) years of related experience
•Knowledge of Corporate Communications strategy, policies, procedures and protocols including evaluation of communication activities, public information process relating to the Incident Management System, public speaking, and event logistics
•Knowledge about media and media relations
•Knowledge about Alaska public and energy policy issues
•Familiarity with Alaska public officials and DC public officials with interest in Alaska energy issues
•Comfort in speaking about and representing company matters in a wide range of forums.
