In support or the US Navy, you will test desktop and web applications and help automate and streamline our testing processes.Â You will be a champion for modernizing test and build processes and provide expertise in the development of both manual and automated tests.Â You should possess the ability to troubleshoot software bugs and related database issues. Ideally, you will manage and improve the automated build processes and work with the test team to deploy and utilize test products on classified test machines.Â You will plan, prepare and execute tests to verify functionality and document and report test results.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Manual and automated testing (end-to-end, functional, graphical user interface, integration, operational, performance, regression, services and system) (40%)
Plan and prepare for testing via written test plans, procedures and scripts and document results in test reports. (15%)
Evaluate existing applications and platforms and give recommendations for enhancing performance (15%)
Develop, update, and maintain quality testing standards and procedures (15%)
Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups (10%)
Identify and mitigate software testing risks. (5%)
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Â
Standard office equipment and computer applications, including Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with automated software test and build tools is required. Familiarity with Team Foundation Server and/or Visual Studio or other team tracking and collaboration tool is preferred.

BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related field;
Understanding of the software engineering process.
Able to work in a collaborative, team environment.
Able to interact professionally with a diverse group including managers, developers, subject matter experts, and DoD personnel who use our software.
Possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative environment.
Possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
At least 5 years software testing experience.
At least 5 years experience with automated test, build, and deployment tools.
Demonstrated software test automation experience required.
Proven hands-on experience with Functional and Regression testing.
Demonstrated experience with test plan and test result preparation.
Ability to coach developers in generating and using automated unit tests
Experience with software build and deployment tools/systems is highly desirable.
An understanding of the software development lifecycle including Agile/Scrum is highly desirable.
Familiarity with RF concepts and spectrum dependent systems is highly desirable
