Arconic is currently seeking a CategoryManager – Indirect Materials and Services to join our Global Rolled Products(GRP) business unit. This position develops and executes Procurement strategiesto arrive at the best total value solution for the company. The successfulcandidate will define the category strategy, lead sourcing initiatives,contract and manage critical supplier relationships in conjunction with keybusiness stakeholders, procurement operations, and leadership teams. This positionreports to the Procurement Director of Indirect Materials for GRP and has flexibilityto be located at Pittsburgh, PA or multiple other US locations. PositionProfile:The overall goal of the Category Manager is to achieve the best total costposition for all external spend within the assigned Categories, the lowestsourcing risks, and best supplier performances to ensure the highest efficiencyand effectiveness of the Procurement team. This position includes the creationof strategic vision and tactical management including execution, examplesinclude but are not limited to:

  • AchievesProcurement targets globally or regionally for assigned categories inclusive ofcost, innovation, quality, and supplier performance to assigned categories.

  • Directresponsibility for spend within the respective Indirect Materials and ServicesCategories.

  • Responsiblefor contract management of assigned categories and fully accountable fordeveloping Supplier Metric Scorecards for Indirect Categories, whereapplicable.

  • Maintainsbusiness relationships with strategic suppliers and is point of contact forsupplier issues within the assigned categories including issues related toservice, commercial terms and contract disputes.

  • Leads,co-leads, or supports commercial sourcing activity across assigned IndirectMaterials and Services categories as required to meet company objectives (e.g.e-Auction, RfX processes).

  • Leads,co-leads, or supports non-commercial events as required to meet objectives,including, but not limited to Kaizen workshops, Working Capital/InventoryWorkshops.

  • Executescontract authoring and Terms and Conditions negotiations with suppliersclassified in assigned categories and projects.

  • Accountablefor Performance areas: Cost Savings (SRT), Supplier performance, challenging ofmaterial & service specifications (demand management).

  • Executesglobal best-in-class procurement processes using state-of-the-art procurementIT software support, ensuring the Procurement organization is utilizing themaximum potential within global and local markets (Cost Savings, Innovation,Quality, Logistics). 

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Productionand Processing — Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, andother techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution ofgoods.

  • Managementof Financial Resources — Determining how money will be spent to get the workdone, and accounting for these expenditures. 

  • Managementof Material Resources — Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use ofequipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

  • Administrationand Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved instrategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordinationof people and resources.

  • Masteryof Technology Skills —Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP; Spreadsheet software:Microsoft Excel; Office Suite software: Microsoft Office.

  • Lawand Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations,executive orders, and agency rules.

  • CriticalThinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknessesof alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Negotiation— Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences. 

  • Communicationskills – the ability to summarize complex situations into actionable items forupper management.

  • Persuasion— Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.

  • ProblemSensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to gowrong.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’sdegree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, InformationTechnology, Politics/Political Science, Policy, Finance, Accounting, DataScience/Analytics, Marketing/Communications, Economics, Mathematics, orEngineering from an accredited Institution.

  • 5years of experience in purchasing management.

  • Employeesmust be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility willbe required at the time of Hire.  Visasponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Thisposition is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen,U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, orRefugee. 

PreferredQualifications:

  • MBAin Business Administration/Economics or similar preferred

  • 2years international purchasing management

  • Professionalcertifications Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is preferred
