Description: Our client is currently seeking a Machine Operator

Summary: We are looking for a Machine Operator to ensure the accuracy that our production 
operates by setting up, pre-programming and monitoring runs for quality. The person in this role 
will have specialized knowledge in the area of CNC grinding, non-conventional machining 
(laser/EDM), and/or general milling, and possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. 
Responsibilities: As a Machine Operator you will:
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine 
methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product 
dimensions and tolerances.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments 
such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, 
shapers, or grinders.
• Examine and inspect the first article produced to ensure quality.
• Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met.
• Operate all Hand Finishing equipment and laser-marking machine.
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or 
advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Be able to comply with all regulatory compliances.
• Interface with engineering, supervisors, QC inspectors and all production staff. 
Machine Operator
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, 
and foreign matter.
• Install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment and/or report equipment 
concerns.
• Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal 
properties, layout, and machining procedures.
• Constantly be conscientious about workplace safety; observing all the company rules and 
safety practices.
• Understand that all team members will need to pitch in, in other areas, as needed to help 
meet our goals and get excited to do so.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
• High school diploma or equivalent; or at least 3 years of related experience and/or training; or 
equivalent combination of education and experiences.
• 2+ years of experience as a Machine Operator or other relevant role.
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and 
machines (lathes, grinders).
• Able to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
• Strong knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Solid understanding of job shop fabrication requirements.
• Accurate necessary math skills, including measuring and keeping count records
• Occasionally able to lift to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours a day.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions, directions, and other communication.
• Capable of thinking out of the box and work without excessive supervision. 
• Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and 
grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports and documents used 
for decision making.
• Outstanding verbal communication skills including tact and diplomacy which would be utilized 
during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and 
external contact.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, under pressure with time constrains while 
responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.

• You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
• Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to United Safety’s attendance and punctuality 
standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and 
unplanned absences and lateness.
• Understand that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work 
extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that growth.
