Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Design Engineer to join our staff in Public Work Design Group in El Segundo, CA or Newport Beach, CA.

Primary Function

Under general supervision, performs assignments of limited scope which require the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design engineering tasks. This includes limited experience in utilizing various Civil Engineering computer software packages and automated engineering and design tools. Assignments involve some unusual or challenging issues requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level.

Primary Duties

  • Prepares plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates and performs calculations for a specific segment of a project
  • Assists in preparation of technical specifications
  • Prepares technical reports/memorandums or sections of larger reports
  • Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data
  • Assists and provides support to a proposal team or proposal manager

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering related coursework / certifications
  • 1-3 years of experience is required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and various engineering computer software
