An employer is seeking a Upstream Process Engineer for one of our pharmaceutical contract manufacturing organizations in Lexington, MA. This person will work within the following 4 quadrants. 1. Quality: this person will serve as the lead engineer within upstream manufacturing and will be helping to execute investigations and change controls. 2. Small-based projects: ~3 month projects. This requires identifying a need, procurement, developing a change program, work with manufacturing to execute. 3. Large Projects: $1mill+ in spend, over 6 months to complete. This requires coordinating cross-functionally in a capital projects capacity to execute large changes 4. Troubleshooting- This person is required to be comfortable on the manufacturing floor. They should be able to spearhead issues that arise on the manufacturing floor, and develop a plan to get upstream manufacturing moving. This person's goal will be to minimize machine downtime.
Chemical Engineering Bachelor's Degree (or BS in Biotech, Biomedical Engineering, etc,)
5+ years of experience within process engineering
Specific knowledge of upstream cell culture process (adherent cell technology or suspension cell culture)
Effective experience with troubleshooting and problem solving
