As our agency rapidly grows the scope and depth of client engagements, we're seeking a bold strategic thinker with high EQ, leadership experience, incredible storytelling ability and a love for actionable insights to help supercharge our joyful strategy team.

Reporting to the VP Strategy, the Data Strategy Director is a new role and a leader on our highly-collaborative strategy team.

In short, the Data Strategy Director will lead our team towards (1) even better results by uncovering meaningful and actionable insights, and (2) even more delighted clients by crafting compelling stories of transformational impact.

Our new Data Strategy Director will be a wonderful, joyful human, and a superstar in these five areas:
  1. Leadership
    • Actively and proactively defining, evangelizing, refining and implementing Movers+Shakers' approach to integrated data strategy
    • Identifying and seeking improvement for current systems/methodologies, and applying innovative industry leading techniques/ideas/trends.
    • Guiding the Data Strategy team, resolving issues, and identifying new opportunities through constructive dialogue with key stakeholders & collaborators.
    • Leading process improvement cross-functionally, including the client service, creative, and influencer teams.
    • Proactively providing thought leadership to the agency, our clients and the industry.
  2. Team, Tool & Project Management
    • Maintaining a strong culture of efficiency, effectiveness, creativity and joy amongst a fully remote, fully amazing team.
    • Leading, managing and mentoring a growing team of Data Strategists and supporting Jr Strategists in various stages of their data-fluency journey.
    • Flexing your project management skills - ensuring the smooth delivery of projects, often with tight timelines.
    • Managing and leveraging research & analytics tools such as e.g., MRI, Simmons, GWI, platform native dashboards, Sprout, and Netbase.
  3. Data-driven Strategy
    • Partnering with Social, Cultural and Content Strategists; leading cultural, category and consumer research and insight mining for creative campaigns and content.
    • Overseeing measurement and reporting across multiple M+S projects; predominantly TikTok brand channels and TikTok-first campaigns focusing on the why and how and what next, as opposed to "what happened"
    • Integrating a broader understanding of the marketing ecosystem and measurement landscape, including but not limited to influencer, paid & organic social, search & web.
  4. Communication
    • Ensuring clear storytelling of approaches, learnings, insights and campaign success to partners ranging from strategy, creative, client service and clients themselves.
    • Translating complex, mathematically-based and/or abstract ideas into solid, tangible expressions to both internal and external stakeholders in a way that is visually appealing and compelling.
    • Masterfully using brevity to drive impact.
  5. Education
    • Proactively teaching and educating other colleagues and business partners in the ways of actionable data strategy.
    • Creating case studies, point of view documents or white papers that help support Movers+Shakers market position in data & analytics.
    • Being the subject matter expert for all marketing measurement, attribution, and testing needs.

YOU'RE SOMEONE WHO HAS
  • 10-12+ years of relevant experience
  • A proven ability to deliver against the majority of the points above!
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, a unique ability to simplify and focus on what really matters.
  • Amazing skills in insight discovery and presentation based on data & analytics curated from a variety of sources (e.g. TikTok Platform, Netbase, GWI, TrendPop, Google Analytics, Sprout...)
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in both formal and informal capacities.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify opportunities and threats and propose data-centric solutions to navigate them.
  • Deep experience working with different departments in a modern creative agency (strategy, media, creative, influencer); and has the ability to play a strong role in progressing successful integrated projects.
  • Extensive experience in social-first creative agencies, adding value to organic & paid social-first campaigns. We also highly value in-house experience at socially-savvy consumer brands.
  • Experience and passion for TikTok and emerging platforms, spaces and methodologies.
  • A passion for delighting clients and going above & beyond.
  • An ability to thrive in an often unstructured, fast-paced environment.
  • Motivation, high levels of energy and positivity- delivering consistent levels of evident enthusiasm
  • Open, honest and direct, is comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • A love of connecting to culture and spreading joy!
