Job Summary
This position cooks raw product in fryers to create a finished product that meets quality standards. Responsibilities include consistently and efficiently following GMP’s and SOP’s and Safety Regulations in producing the finished product; notifying supervisor of any QA issues and malfunctioning equipment.
 
Essential Job Duties
  • Cooks continuous batches of Kettle Foods product that meets efficiency and quality standards.
  • Changes slicer heads.
  • Cleans fryers, slicer heads and delivery system, and surrounding area.
  • Performs general control panel functions.
  • Performs ‘lock-out/tag-out’ functions correctly.
  • Monitors oil levels and adds oil when necessary.
  • Occasionally work at the finished and raw chip inspection conveyor removing off-grade product.
  • Notifies supervisor of equipment or quality problems.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Regulations consistently.
  • Communicates regularly with Cook Room Lead and Supervisor.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.
 
  • Non-Essential Functions:
  • Removes off-grade product from the raw and finished chip inspection conveyor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Knowledgeable of GMP’s. SOP’s, and Safety Regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Strong mechanical awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills for working with employees at all levels within the company.
  • Effective math skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to become lock/out tag/out certified within three months.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner in a production environment with safety hazards.
  • Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently and as part of a team to accomplish production goals.
 
Education and Experience
High School Diploma; or equivalent required.
