Job Title: Electrical Controls Designer Location: Salt Lake City UT Duration: Direct Hire Pay: $80,000-$105,000/annually DOE   Kelly Services is seeking a talented and skilled Electrical Controls Designer for a customer in Salt Lake City UT. Qualified candidates will develop models, drawings, and documentation to support projects and products. Applies knowledge acquired in his/her area of work. Supports product and process optimization. Develops drawings and models to support projects

  • Assists engineers in preparing layout and design
  • Takes part in order execution
  • Works with engineering tools to create drawings and models.
  • Directs other designers and checks their work for correctness and accuracy.
  • Prepares Bills of Material and part list
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

  The Individual Contributor applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. Requires work to be closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area   Area of responsibility Execute control panel and electrical design for equipment in the Minerals Processing industry and related activities such as bid tabulations for the selection of materials and equipment, preliminary design studies, equipment drawings and detail and construction drawings in compliance with process and client requirements. Able to engineer control panels using the provided specifications, P&ID’s, and platform hardware manuals. Able to design industrial control panels for hazardous locations. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize projects in accordance with deadline requirements. Interfaces with Electrical & Controls Engineer. Maximizes electrical engineering productivity using advanced engineering tools. Provide the necessary proficiency in both 2D drawings and 3D modeling.   Experience   Minimum of 5 years of experience in control panel design. Must have working knowledge of relay-based control, PLC control and power circuits. Experience liaising with control panel fabrication shop personnel. In depth understanding of CSA, CE, UL codes is desired. Knowledge of motors, motor starters, VFD sizing and power electronics. Exposure to IEC requirements as they pertain to are classification, symbols, and control system designs. Knowledge of communication networks. Minerals Processing Equipment Electrical Design Expertise is desired Must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD drafting software 2D and 3D. Experience with database driven design tools is highly preferred (SeeElectrical, EPlan, SmartPlant)   Education   Associates Degree in Engineering Technology and Computer Aided Design or equivalent from a two-year college.   Qualified candidates should email resume and references for consideration to URL blocked - click to apply.
