IT SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Assist the Director of Information Technology with all aspects of the Centers server, storage, voice, and virtualization functions. Responsible for Server Administration on all Windows servers, Domain Controllers, Citrix Xen Servers, Citrix Farm Servers, Print Servers, VSphere, Exchange Server, account creation to include user permissions. Anti-virus Management, patch management, data storage management, data backup, restore testing. Provide Windows platform management, configuration, design, training, and expertise.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Provide Server Administration on all physical and virtual server
systems. Install new or rebuild existing servers. Configure server
hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage in
accordance with best practice standards and system
requirements. Contribute to and maintain system standards.
- Support all components of Citrix to include XenServer, XenApp,
Virtual Templates, Provisioning Server, Citrix Portal, Citrix client,
published applications, patches and updates. Ensure all
components are running at optimal performance. Investigate and
troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Support all components of CISCO UCS to include VSphere,
VCenter, all virtual servers, monitor hosts for health and patches.
Allocate recourses as required. Manage storage for virtual servers
and maintain virtual server templates. Monitor VMotion to maximize up time. Stay current with best practices and guidelines. Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis, upgrade administrative tools and utilities as needed.
- Assist with the support of all voice communication on Cisco Unified
communications (VOIP) to include verification and proper function
of all devices and software. Make recommendations for replacement. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with voice and paging.
- Perform daily system monitoring. Verify the integrity and
availability of all datacenter hardware and server resources.
Review system and application event logs. Perform periodic
performance reporting to support capacity planning. Monitor and
maintain all datacenter power and cooling.
- Maintain a continuous monitor of the network systems health.
Setup rules to quickly respond and notify the department of issues within the network. Create and update Network and VOIP documentation including maps, past configurations, configuration explanation, password management, asset information.
1. Education: Bachelor degree required with at least five years related experience.
