Job Description

Our client, a highly innovative fresh/perishable food manufacturing company based in Orange County, CA, is currently seeking a Plant Manager/Operations Director.  Reports directly to the President.  Local candidates to Orange County only.
The Plant Manager is responsible for assisting the President in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost. 

Major/Key Accountabilities 
• Manage the work of all production employees oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods. 
• Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and managing employee relations issues. 
• Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies 
*Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, policies, procedures, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives of the organization. 
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in supplier relationships and performance, inventory management, product cost reduction and supply chain efficiency. 
• Manage and coordinate sourcing, warehouse, internal delivery system, forecasting and planning activities. 
*Manage warehouse personnel to achieve daily operational demands; manage warehouse operations including shipping, receiving and cycle-counting. 
• Maintain strong professional relationships between suppliers and the company. Communicate effectively regarding key aspects of the partnership including growth plans, product specifications, quality requirements, business needs. Evaluate supplier effectiveness relative to procurement strategy. Establish and maintain key performance indicators aligned with company goals; implement plans to improve supplier performance. 
• Develop supply chain, strategic sourcing, identify new suppliers to support future growth; analyze supply market conditions including tactics to mitigate risk and volatility. 
• Work with financial team to maintain usage and forecasting information, provide comprehensive business review data as required. 
• Directly responsible for all employment decisions at the facility. 
• Responsible in consult with the President for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant. 
• Support and implement cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant. 
• Continually review operations activities, including local transportation activities to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL,USDA,EPA, FD) • Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant 
• Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant and in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain 
• Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability. • Ensure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant 
• Implement and manage Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste 
• In partnership with Human Resources provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities 
• Drive efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, while meeting customer expectations. 
Measures OSHA Incident Rate • Productivity/throughput • Production yield • Asset utilization • Profitability to budget • Regulatory Compliance • Inventory reconciliation • Direct Cost Metrics 

Qualifications: 
• Bachelors in Operations/Supply Chain or related field 
• Six Sigma/Lean certification preferred Experiences 
• 5+ years in a plant supervisory role in manufacturing/ food processing environment 
• Strong customer focus orientation 
• Expert people management capability including non-exempt production workforce 
• Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations 
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally 
• Experience managing safety performance and programs 
• Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics 

Skills And Knowledge: 
• Superior ability to manage people and motivate a team • Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability * Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical and organizational skills; proven negotiation skills • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, vendor management and sustainability requirements • Tenacious and self-driven; able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities • MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) required; knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP preferred All newly hired individuals are promptly screened through the E-Verify electronic employment authorization program run by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. • Drug-free workplace.
