Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed:
Directs the manufacture of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) columns through a team of lab associates, to supply a global market in line with company goals and in accordance with the internal specifications and to meet required delivery dates.
Ensures throughput of product, ensuring customer satisfaction through shift goals. Continually improves the efficiency of Client, materials and machines to contribute toward company goals of the Quality Policy, annual revenues and productivity targets.
Drives production shift productivity, cost reduction and shift performance measures
Manufactures HPLC columns to supply a global market in line with company goals
Maintains, monitors and drives improvement from related Key Business Metrics
Supervises and manages Lab and Associate Lab Technicians.
Provides leadership for Production employees through effective communications, training, and development.
Ensures compliance with company requirements and meets personnel goals for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on-time delivery.
Conducts process improvement through knowledge of the latest manufacturing techniques and equipment available, coupled with a willingness to drive change.
Encourages mutual respect and co-operation within departmental team and those of other departments.• Shift Employee Relations
May perform or assist in instrument and equipment maintenance and qualification.
Completes all assigned training
May train other personnel
Reads, understands, and follows methods, SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements, regulatory guidelines, and company policies.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
Ensures that health and safety procedures are adhered to and that considerations are given to improve safe working practices to take reasonable care for oneself and others who may be affected by one’s acts or omissions.
Continues to acquire and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure continuing personal growth to meet the needs of the job and the success of the business.
Knows, fully understands the purpose of operational practices, health & safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and ISO9000/ISO13485/FDA 21CFR820 quality procedures and work accordingly.

Leads the production staff of hourly associates.
Usees ERP/Access to conduct day to day business transactions and longer range business planning functions.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry related discipline
HS/GED/Associates with 4 years experience in a laboratory production or manufacturing environment
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Past Supervisory Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software.
Strong historical evidence of a Process driven and Data driven approach to problem solving
Proficient in Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices and standards.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Knowledge of Demand flow, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Management: The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Employee training and development.
Problem analysis and problem resolution.
Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements
Must be able to communicate information with others verbally and in written forms
Must have good mathematical skills
The ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly
Basic problem solving skills
Proficient with assembly equipment/processes used in department
Must read, understand, and follow written procedures (SOP's) and/or verbal instruction
Must be able to write clearly and concisely
Ability to work independently with occasional assistance
Ability to take ownership for general processes/products
The ability to learn and utilize Lean manufacturing and PPI Continuous Improvement tools
The ability to meet deadlines and targets.The ability and willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills
Must have basic understanding of Production Schedules
Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
