Senior Corporate Financial Analyst

Job Summary
Manages pieces of the financial forecast and budget process.  Provides financial and business related analysis and insights.  Researches, interprets, develops, and implements financial and accounting concepts and/or techniques for financial planning and assessment. 
 
Essential Job Duties
  • Develops an understanding of gross revenue, trade spend and cost of goods sold that allows for thorough analysis and the development of sound models that forecast future results based on key performance drivers.
  • Coordinates and partners with cross functional teams to capture forecast updates and develop comparisons that provide insightful analysis.
  • Recommends revisions or other factors to consider in the development of financial forecasts and budgets
  • Research, interpret, develop, and implement financial and accounting concepts and/or techniques for financial planning and budgeting.
  • Prepares executive level presentations and summaries of forecasting and planning information.  This may include presentations to senior management and preparation for BOD presentations and meetings.
  • Conducts and documents financial analysis projects that may require acting in a lead role, as a subject matter expert, or instructing or training other analysts or staff. 
  • Makes recommendations to the team to improve and further develop the forecast and annual budgeting process, associated analytics, and tool set.
  • Maintains information systems by entering, verifying, reconciling and backing up data.
  • Masters use of key systems (Oracle, Procube, Margin Miner).
  • Performs other duties as required.
 
Scope of Responsibility
Somewhat independent; working under general instructions and expected to determine how to accomplish assigned work.
 
 
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and make recommendations or propose solutions
  • High degree of accuracy and integrity required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion while managing confidential information
  • Strong PC skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced financial systems knowledge preferred (such as Cognos Finance, Oracle, Procube, Hyperion)
 
Education and Experience
Required:  Bachelor's degree required and 3 to 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; MBA preferred.
 
Travel Required
Occasional travel, < 10% of time.  Some travel may be required for special projects, cross functional relationship building, plant/facility visits.
