Position Description:
Pharmacy- Outpatient
Responsible to process prescriptions through the pharmacy system including adjudication of claims to third party insurance plans, for the filling of medication orders timely and accurately, recognize common drug names, and select proper drug, dosage form, strength and quantity, as appropriate for review by the Pharmacist. The MPP technician will deliver medications to patients in the hospital and clinic setting, coordinate payment and communicate issues to the pharmacist and to the Prior Authorization team as needed. Excellent communication skills are required for communicating to patients both on the phone and in person. Additional responsibilities include participation in service line meetings as required, inventory management, and processing copay cards issued by drug company programs for eligible patients

The pharmacy technician schedules range from 7am – 6:30pm, Monday – Friday, currently subject to change.
The weekday shifts mainly are 8:30am – 6:00pm, 9:30am – 6:00pm, and 10:00am – 6:30pm rotating throughout the week based on the needs of the business.
The technicians are required to work every 3rd weekend and the current shifts are 8:30-2:30 both Saturday and Sunday.
