**Summary:**

The VP, New Product Development under direction of the Chief Product and Strategy Officer, is responsible for identifying, vetting, and developing new products that both address critical unmet needs and advance Somatus market position. This person will proactively vet and identify areas of opportunity and lead the work to design, build and develop scalable product(s) with robust models and clearly defined requirements.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Provide executive leadership for all functional aspects of Somatus New Product Development, in concert with subject matter experts.

+ Drive the ideation, development, and execution of new product development and subsequent product launch.

+ Identify, vet, develop and direct the scoping and build out of new products.

+ Define and manage the product roadmap and life cycle to ensure productivity throughout the entire product life cycle from idea to post-launch product phases, with a clear and complete product view throughout.

+ Think strategically, and creatively, about how the product should work - translating a vision to process and requirements.

+ Possess a strong understanding of our products and services.

+ Follow the latest industry developments and stay up to date on competitors and market trends.

+ Navigate and influence innovation across teams to ensure alignment in a complex and fast paced environment.

+ Grow and mature early-to-mid stage new product development with support from company leadership and company subject matter experts.

+ Track key activities across new product opportunities to forecast revenue or savings.

**Required Education and Experience:**

+ Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field. MBA, or a Masters-Degree is preferred.

+ Three (3) years' experience developing business cases, championing alignment, and securing funding.

+ Five (5) years Product Development experience.

+ Seven (7) years of relevant experience working in health plans, provider groups or other healthcare organizations.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

+ Experience with corporate strategy, product development and new product launch.

+ Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to drive change that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries.

+ Ability to work collaboratively, influence others, and be persistent in achieving desired outcomes.

+ Ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of disparate data.

+ Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.

+ The ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.

**Physical Requirements**

+ This job operates in a professional office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Normal manual dexterity is required.

+ Normal speaking and hearing abilities to interact with others in an office environment, over telephone or other video conferencing platform.

+ The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms and continuously repeat the same hand, arm finger motion many times as in typing.
