Procurement Systems Specialist

AMRI provides global contract research and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The Program Systems Specialist is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by supporting the development of key procurement and sourcing systems and process capabilities in support of $500M in annual spend, up to 6000 suppliers, 30 – 40 staff and up to 60,000 annual procurement transactions generated by 26 AMRI sites located in 9 countries. The Procurement Systems Specialist will:

•         Help to optimize use of current ERP platforms

•         Track and organize data for use in supplier and category spend analytics

•         Automate Procurement metrics capture

•         Support procurement savings capture and procurement data analysis activities

•         Identify, develop, and help implement improvements to procure to pay processes and policies to create procurement efficiencies

•         Participate in training program management – procurement operations

In this role, you will:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 


•         Support excellence in Procurement performance and planning by identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement.

•         Participate in the development and maintenance of standard Procurement business processes and tools

•         Support the development and maintenance of procurement business processes including standard operating procedures and work instructions

•         Develop and maintain spend reporting and key metrics for Procurement, to include dashboards and savings reporting

•         Develop and maintain key ERP capabilities such as:

§  Optimization of the end user experience for procurement of goods and services and improved procurement process efficiencies

§  Helping enable use and maintenance of hosted supplier catalogs negotiated by Strategic Sourcing category managers

§  Spend analytic capabilities

§  Pricing and contract compliance

§  Supplier communication and supplier relationship management tools

•         Complete high-level analyses to support procurement and category management strategy development and initiative implementation as needed.

Travel: 5 – 15% of time, International travel required



•         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

•         2+ years of demonstrated operational procurement process experience

•         Expertise in Oracle or SAP procure to pay platform, Spend Analytics and Sourcing systems

•         Interpersonal, communications and problem solving skills

•         Computer literacy and good working knowledge of MS Office tools, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint




•         Equivalent experience preferably in scientific and or Finance/business management area

•         Supplier management experience

•         Development and presentation of metrics and key performance indicators
