Scope and Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced Senior Director of Supply, Materials Planning & Procurement, reporting to the VP Planning & Manufacturing, who will thrive working cross-functionally with teams, developing innovative solutions, and implementing a dynamic Global tech strategy.

This person will lead from the front, mentor, coach team members, manage priorities and gets results across boundaries. In addition will ensure an inclusive and diverse work environment. The Senior Director of Engineering will support engineering team activities focused on architecting, designing, developing, onboarding, and supporting Nike's Global Supply Planning Technology Platforms.

Summary of Accountabilities:

* Responsible for strategic planning, financial growth, and group leadership consistent with the Corporate Vision, Strategy, Mission, and Objectives.
* Responsible for business planning, establishing, and communicating group goals, performance targets and objectives, and development of the annual business plans.
* Develops a strong engineering team. Coaches staff, builds opportunities for development, and makes decisions on hiring, performance management, recognition, and rewards.
* Responsible for influencing and effectively driving decisions multi-functionally and across regions to meet the business and organizational goals.
* Develops internal and/or external partnerships that use resources and improve group responsiveness.
* Proactively advises business units regarding the development of new services and products that further support and strengthen the capabilities of the business unit and align with the ultimate goals and objectives of the enterprise.
* Makes significant buy/build and vendor selection decisions, including those that represent long-term strategic partnerships.

Other Critical Experiences

* Deep knowledge of software architecture and engineering standard methodologies, especially modern cloud computing stacks for processing big data and deploying microservices at scale. For example, AWS for cloud provider, EKS for Kubernetes, Docker for containers, Jenkins for CI/CD, Kafka, Spark, Nifi, etc.
* Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple timelines, priorities, and teams with ease. At the same time, able to quickly flex and pivot due to changing circumstances which present new opportunities for Nike.
* An effective communicator who can seamlessly cross between discussing high level vision with executives to low level tactics with the dev team. You can influence people and align efforts across the company to act as one in pursuit of a common goal.
* A constant learner who is passionate about staying at the forefront of the engineering and software landscape through reading journals, books, or blogs. In equal measure, someone who is passionate about growing people and understanding how to effectively lead an organization.


* Obsess serving Nike consumers and always have a bias for action.
* Has demonstrated experience leading teams over multiple multi-functional domains.
* Demonstrated ability in building cloud scalable, real time and high-performance application and solutions.
* Knowledge and experience Engineering essentials such as languages (JavaScripting, Python, etc..), source control, relational and non-relational databases.
* Expert knowledge and experience with a diversity of tools and platforms.
* Experience with micro service and full stack architecture.
* Proven ability to rapidly learn and evolve organization in using new technologies and methodologies.
* Experience in taking ownership and delivering results of noticeable high quality.
* Breadth of knowledge across data analytics and engineering subject areas.
* Excellent Supply chain knowledge.
* Experience in OKR driven delivery.
