Serve as integral member of the Key Merchant Services sales teams in assigned districts and/or segment. Assist channel in serving as the client's trusted advisor for merchant solutions in order to develop, manage and retain profitable client relationships for clients with more complex cash management needs. Take accountability for and contribute to the team's portfolio growth.
Essential Job Functions
-This role will acquire new merchant services relationships through referrals from KeyBank banking centers and through prospecting external sources within the sales representative's assigned territory.
-Present and sell merchant payment processing (including Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, MasterCard, check processing, gift cards, ACH) and the corresponding hardware and software products to small and medium size businesses (typically between $50,000 to $5 million in annual credit card volume).
-Consult with prospective businesses in identifying the proper payment solution to meet the business needs.
-Identify merchant's other banking needs and work with available KeyBank resources to deliver solutions that meet those needs
-Handling referrals from internal KeyBank units such as local branches, Business Banking, Middle Market, customer service, Private Banking, and Treasury.
-Prospect small and medium size businesses in sale representative's assigned region to supplement bank referrals.
-Work closely with branches and other bank divisions in order to stimulate bank referrals.
-This position requires developing a strong pipeline for new revenue growth and developing and maintaining relationships with existing accounts and banking centers to identify/solicit new revenue growth opportunities.
-Assist other bank units in making joint sales calls to assist with market merchant services to prospective new commercial customers.
-Associates or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent sales experienceFLSA STATUS:
-2+ years of sales experience in the financial services industry
-Preferred payment industry experience
-Ability to travel locally possible overnight travel
-Ability to consistently achieve monthly sales goals
-Strong marketing, business development, relationship management, sales and negotiating skills
-Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

-Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
-Conversational use of additional language (For example: Spanish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, etc.) is a plus
