Job Title
Production and Inventory Planning Manager

Position Summary
Lead and manage a team of planners to analyze, plan and prepare production schedules for manufactured products within the production facility to meet customer demand. Team up with various stakeholders to drive inventory optimization to support production, minimize E&O and improve inventory accuracy related issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Draws up production schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders.
* Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to help determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
* Gathers performance data and assesses whether or not departments are performing according to production schedules. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas where improvements can be implemented.
* Analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine the amount of product that will be produced. Works with other departments and plants to determine optimal inventory levels.
* Team up with various key stakeholders on inventory results, drive E&O reduction, root causing and improve inventory accuracy related issues
* Initiates process improvements in the inventory domain, and team up with the inventory control and warehouse team to identify new insights on performance and future opportunities to improve inventory accuracy KPIs
* Communicate and correlate with other plants and departments as necessary to support production and inventory goals
* Plans, schedules and communicates production according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Organizes and leads capacity meetings.
* Expedites and alters production schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Assists in the root cause analysis on work order problems and issues with production.
* Supports department team members to deliver mutually successful programs and initiatives.
* Prepares production reports, such as required materials, tools and equipment.
* Provides direction and leadership to planners to meet department and company goals.
* Supervise team of Planners, and dotted line managing the inventory control team.
* Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
* Must have experience with MRP system, preferably with Oracle. Working knowledge of MS Office such as Excel, Word and Outlook. More advanced
Excel skills are preferred.
* Although very infrequent, must be able to travel when required.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
* 5-7 years of relevant experience
* Prior Supervisory experience required
* Prior Medical device experience preferred
* APICS preferred
Minimum Qualifications
* Must be over 18 years old
Travel Requirements
* Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
* This job operates in a professional office and warehouse environment.
* This job requires computer work for hours at a time, along with standing and walking.
