ABOUT THE JOB:
The Independent Sales Representative develops profitable new business and grows sales for existing assigned accounts; these are primarily independent and smaller group customers (i.e., fewer than 5 stores).
Evaluate and understand competitor strengths, weaknesses, financials, technology, new initiatives, and limitations within their defined territory.
Sell new business concepts to clients; confirm that new and existing accounts meet established business criteria.
Achieve or exceed sales, APSW, and gross margin budget; review accounts receivables on a weekly basis and take appropriate action to keep customers within terms.
Review item selection versus industry/market/competition/season and make recommendations on item selection, plan-o-grams, and promotional planning or distribution guidelines.
This position has additional duties; special projects may be assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
2 years of sales and/or customer service experience.
2 years of McLane-specific experience.
Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Able to travel as required.
18 years of age.
