Job Description

The Customer Service Representative provides exceptional customer service, sells bank products and performs bank transactions. The Customer Service Representative builds mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with new customers’ by informing, advising and educating customers on Amboy Bank product and services.

Essential Functions

•Build rapport and foster relationships with customers through information sharing and active listening
•Meet customer expectations by accurately assessing needs and providing solutions
•Provide timely and efficient service and quality when opening new client accounts
•Cross sell products by determining needs and referring customers to appropriate business partners
•Assist customers in a courteous and timely fashion
•Perform teller responsibilities such as cash handling, processing transactions, daily proof, etc.
•Comply with established policies, procedures and operational guidelines

Education and Experience

•Associate Degree (field experience may substitute for degree)
•Six months customer service experience in financial services or retail environment
•Six months cash handling experience
•Previous teller experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Demonstrated knowledge of banking products and services
•Knowledge of principles and practices of needs assessment and ability to demonstrate such with existing and new customers
•Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
•Strong problem solving and decision making skills
•Good conflict resolution skills (use tact and diplomacy to handle uncomfortable situations) Position Requirements:
•Job requires strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completion of assignments
•Job requires developing constructive and cooperative relationships with others
•Job requires the use of computers for various applications
•Job requires honesty, integrity and ethical behavior Physical Requirement:
•Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 75% of day when functioning as a teller)
•Ability to sit for long periods of time
•Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel
•Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information
•Ability to talk, hear, see
•Ability to use telephone to communicate with others
