Genesis10 is seeking an Internal Audit, Corporate/Wholesale Banking, Consultant for a contract position with a financial services client located in New York, NY.

Summary:
This role can be straight consulting or consult to hire. This role will be part of the IT Audit group supporting corporate/wholesale banking and cash management. This is a new need stemming from business growth in this product area. As part of the Internal Audit group, you will work to ensure that the Bank maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm's compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. The group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. We're looking for detail-oriented team players who have an interest in financial markets and want to gain insight into the firm's operations and control processes.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working for a management consulting firm or a regulatory body with an understanding of corporate/wholesale banking operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of corporate banking and cash management business areas, its products, and supporting functions
  • Assist in every step of an audit including scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting
  • Execute audit testing and ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high quality standards
  • Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
  • Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business clients
  • Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution
  • Assist in the audit team's continuous monitoring effort to cover market and regulatory events, business and technology updates and audit/reviews completed
  • Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving IA's processes and supporting infrastructure

  • Solid analytical skills

Corporate/Wholesale Banking Team Specific Skills and Experience
  • Cash Management operations knowledge: corporate banking payments, corporate checking accounts, managing payments for corporate clients, SWIFT or CHIPS
  • 4-8 years of experience in audit, operations, or a related control function in corporate and or wholesale banking.
  • 4-year degree in a finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline, and ideally a graduate degree in a related subject
  • Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA, CAMS, FRM, NASD Series) is a plus
  • Experience with Data Analytics is a plus
