What we need:

Cetera Financial Group is currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our company's offices located in El Segundo, California or New York, New York. This is a unique opportunity to join a legal team of highly experienced lawyers who have corporate, litigation, broker-dealer and investment advisory practices. The Litigation Paralegal will primarily support attorneys handling FINRA arbitrations, litigations and regulatory enforcement matters, and offers an excellent opportunity for long-term professional growth and a competitive compensation package.

What you will do:

The Litigation Paralegal performs legal work under the direction of an attorney and paralegal supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities:

* Supports litigation attorneys and paralegal supervisor in all facets of litigation
* Organize and maintain litigation files including using electronic case management system.
* Work with insurance carriers on billing and claim notices
* Work with various departments to obtain necessary information relating to claims
* Work with finance department on billing and maintaining legal reserves
* Review and process vendor bills including using electronic billing system
* Gather documents from various internal management systems
* Organize documents and coordinate document productions
* Conduct various document searches and factual research
* Draft various legal memos including litigation hold memos
* Prepare matter materials for case hearings
* Act as liaison among various internal departments and outside counsel
* Provide administrative support to attorneys including calendar and travel management
* Responding to requests for information
* Other duties as assigned

What you need to have:

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel (spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat
* Knowledge of Legal Tracker is a plus
* Knowledge of Westlaw or similar is a plus
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
* Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
* Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic
* Sound judgment and problem solving abilities
* Ability to analyze complex information requests
* Bachelor's degree preferred

Really catch our eye with:

* Paralegal Certification is a plus
* Prior insurance experience is a plus
* Recommended 2 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
