Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic leader to oversee our IT department. This role will manage both the Dev Ops and Infrastructure teams. This leader will need to take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity. This role is responsible for streamlining processes in the IT department in alignment with the company's objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT Department operational and strategic planning, foster innovation and project planning.

  • Communicate with Owners and department heads to define and develop business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

  • Manage and develop budget of IT department.

  • Keep current with the latest technologies.

  • Ensure system standards, patch levels and security procedures are frequently reviewed and updated as needed.

  • Analyze and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

  • Create and implement all IT policies and procedures including, security, standards and service provision.

  • Strong leader for the Dev Ops Team and Infrastructure Team

  • Develops the prioritization of technology initiatives and accurately track the status, costs, and all projects related to IT.

  • Leads management of all technology specific vendor relationships.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the success of the development and infrastructure teams.

  • Maintain an understanding of the market and competitive environment, be able to report to leadership on changing market dynamics.

  • Facilitate development planning, retrospectives and demos.

  • Recommend and evaluate policies and procedures for system use and services.

  • Organize and review systems and security audits to maintain a stable and secure environment

  • Manage the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans for hardware, software or network failures.

  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

  • Make rapid, well-informed and independent judgments in support of IEL's business critical systems.

  • Ensure compliance with, and report on, Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Ensure the culture of the IT department

Job Requirements


  • 7 years of Information Technology experience.

  • 2 years of people management experience including hiring, coaching and developing direct reports.

  • Exceptional planning, organization, communication, multi-tasking, prioritization, time management and business analysis skills.

  • Experience with hiring, onboarding and retaining talent at all levels.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently while working closely in a team environment.

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication.

  • Understanding of and experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Knowledge of network security, telecommunications, and web-based applications.


  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Major in Computer Science related discipline or information systems discipline preferred.
