Addictions Counselor-Bilingual-Outpatient(Signing Bonus)

CB Est Salary: $25.41 - $34.43/Hour
Fora Health is seeking a full-time addictions counselor (AC) for its Hillsboro-based outpatient substance use disorder treatment program. The AC will be a core member of a new multi-disciplinary team charged with expanding access to medications to treat addiction in the Hillsboro area, with a particular focus on improving access to care for the Latinx population. The AC will be expected to work closely with a recovery mentor, a medical provider, and other Hillsboro counselors to provide evidence-based behavioral health interventions to all Hillsboro patients. The AC should also have a robust understanding of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, medication-supported recovery, and harm-reduction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates must be familiar with strength-based counseling and have knowledge of dual diagnosis, systems of care and motivational interviewing
  • Current CADC I is required
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Willing and able to work both as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and able to become proficient in electronic health records systems, Kipu preferred
  • Effective and compassionate verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.

  • Understands basic psychopharmacology

  • Demonstrates understanding and application of issues related to self-awareness, diversity, and ethics
  • Effectively communicates and establishes rapport, incorporates foundational models (e.g., MI, DBT), and gathers data to complete clinical evaluation covering the scope of ASAM dimensions and mental health concerns
  • Demonstrates ability to construct treatment plan with patient, to re-assess the plan and make changes as indicated
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to record treatment plans, session notes and progress of patient in relation to treatment goals and objectives consistent with agency standards
  • Demonstrates ability to facilitate groups
  • Able to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Understands emergency situations and protocols (safe milieu management)
  • Understands and integrates 12 step recovery principles in interactions with patients

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • For employees with a history of substance use disorder or identifying as a person in recovery, Fora Health requires certification of a minimum of two years' continuous sobriety.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug test
  • Successful completion of Tuberculin test and/or evaluation with negative results or documented evidence of non-communicability
  • DHS criminal background approval

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position generally works in an indoor office environment with infrequent travel between sites and/or off-site for meetings and/or trainings, or to special events.
  • Office and team workspace is shared with other team members
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases which can encompass a variety of illnesses and infections, including tuberculosis, Hepatitis A, B, and C, and HIV for which personal protective equipment is provided.
  • Possible exposure to upset, angry, severely traumatized, disabled or emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents, and families.

HOURS AND PAY

This is a full-time position earning $25.41-34.43 (including 5% pay differential for employees with fluent bilingual skills) per hour (depending upon experience) working 40 hours per week. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation.

SIGNING BONUS

This position is an on-site position at our Hillsboro outpatient clinic located at 205 SE 3rd Avenue, Suite 100.
