Senior Mechanical Engineer

Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, release, and validation of prismatic lithium ion battery modules and packs for customized applications in the government, military, aerospace, and other specialty, high-performance market segments. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be the technical system lead from concept design phase through successful production launch.
Work Environment: Our client located in Ann Arbor, MI is a research, development and production company of multiple lithium ion battery and energy storage system solutions for commercial, government and military sectors.
Client is a small company that enjoys a familial atmosphere which fosters and encourages teamwork, collaboration, and open communication; has a start-up feel to it
Client is leading the way in the development of lithium ion applications in all market places. Routinely, they are invited to bid on a projects of small (unique) and large scale manufacturing opportunities.Client has a team of doctoral R&D scientists, a full suite of laboratories, a team of software, electrical, and mechanical engineers, and on-site PCB, wire harness, and battery pack manufacturing. Because of their on-site cradle-to-grave capability, engineers will come to work for an organization that offers opportunities in all aspects of the research, engineering, and manufacturing arenas.
Core hours are 8-4, but they are flexible. R&D environment and they also started doing assembly of these batteries.
40-45 hours/week. Occasional OT worked depending on work flow.
Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering form an ABET accredited institution.
-5+ years of product development adn design release to production experience.
-Proficient in Soldworks CAD software and simulation/analysis tools.
-Proficient in the application of GD&T for component and assembly prints and specifications.
-Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and visual.
-Proficient in Microsoft Offce
