Job Description

Responsible for daily tasks to trust operation functions by providing operational support to the WISD division of M&T Bank/Wilmington Trust and its clients. Operational functions include but are not limited to: posting, maintaining and processing asset, cash and security related transactions. Responsible for the processing of account balancing as well as other various daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual tasks. Comply with all MTB policies, in addition to compliance with Wilmington Trust Security Industry & Trust Fiduciary regulations. Responsible to maintain VPN connectivity and work remotely to support Wilmington Line of Business as required by circumstance

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Resolve problems with transactions by communicating directly with internal financial advisors, investment managers and third parties. Responsible for working with Middle and Front Office to resolve problems with requests submitted.
  • Responsible for balancing, reporting, and researching all exception items that settle through various depositories, general ledger and house accounts
  • Processes and records specific types of transactions relating to investment cash and assets amongst accounts according to applicable policies and procedures
  • Monitor the group mailbox for incoming work and inquiries
  • Conduct independent verification of transactional activity processed by other team members
  • Support and recommend the implementation of process improvements
  • Interpret data received from internal/external parties in order to process moderately complex transactions with a sense of urgency
  • Identify and report all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities
  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet service level agreements and internal service delivery standards
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree,

OR in lieu of a degree,

A combined minimum of 4 year' higher education and/or work experience

Effective communication skills

Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Strong math skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel

Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Accounting

2 years Securities industry experience

Knowledge of Trust accounting systems

Knowledge of accounting principles as needed by job

Knowledge of M&T systems

Ability to work under time constraints
