JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager SAP COE is responsible for managing all activities related to the newly established SAP Center of Excellence (COE) which will support and maintain our new SAP S/4 HANA system supporting the business. The COE Sr. Manager will manage the team who will ensure that our SAP investment is properly governed, supported, and maintained across all disciplines: Architecture, Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security. This role works closely with the SAP Application Managed Services (AMS) Partner and the Director, Enterprise Projects to manage this complex system and must understand our application roadmap and dependencies with other enterprise systems. 


The person in this position has strong organizational savvy and successfully manages risks, issues, and work streams for COE team members. The Sr. Manager SAP COE works with the Technology Management team as needed to assess the health of a given SAP related initiative based on common metrics and best practice.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE SETTING UP A SAP COE AFTER GO-LIVE

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with 10+ plus years of experience in the field or in a related area or possesses an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in leading an SAP COE or similar role. 
  • Experience with SAP ERP implementation projects of moderate to high complexity, SAP S/4 HANA a plus.
  • Experience with SAP BW 4 HANA implementations a plus.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of issue management and the systems development life cycle and project delivery life cycle.
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude of understanding complex business processes and functions.
  • Ability to challenge, recommend and redirect teams as necessary for successful change and issue management and project delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership.
  • Ability to work well on cross functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.
  • Has a track record of aligning large groups of diverse stakeholders on system support and maintenance plans, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to navigate significant business relationships and align where both parties achieve a win-win outcome.
  • Experience in agile project management best practices and tooling.
  • Experience in ITIL/ITSM software like Service Now
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA - knowledge in both processes and technical.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership in establishing, maintaining, and enforcing standard business processes and system changes to drive and achieve continued value from company’s investments in SAP technologies.
  • Carry out change management / project rollout governance to ensure all aspects of the system are aligned and risk is being managed.
  • Work closely with business users and stakeholders, to grasp business requirements and translate it into solution design, considering business operations & system impact and mitigation approach
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to introduce new enhancements, processes, and functionalities.
  • As subject matter expert, carry out continuous improvement activities for the SAP COE processes to meet business expectations.
  • Oversee project planning and management for minor or medium scale SAP related projects.
  • Work closely with different teams (eg: Basis, ABAP, AMS) to ensure issues and requests are prioritized and managed to optimize the utilization of COE resources and to ensure that work is addressed timely.
  • Primary point of contact for managing the relationship with our AMS vendor and holding them accountable.
  • Prepare proposal and presentations to stakeholders to communicate ideas and to obtain buy-in
  • Ensure timely update of system documentation.
  • Motivate & coach team to achieve higher performance.
  • Develop and leverage strong partnerships with IT and business leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises six - eight employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
