The Octo team is seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator is to support the Air Force Research Laboratory Distributed Common Ground System Open Architecture (OA) initiative. This goal of this initiative is to develop an open and agile architecture, enabling a plug-and-play-type environment for the suite of DCGS applications deployed globally.
Responsible for loading and maintaining the operation of DCGS applications and platforms
Leads the following administrative activities on DCGS systems migrated into the target environment:
login/domain accounts and file access rights and other application specific permissions
System Security and recurring patching
Server Installation, configuration, and ATO
Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting of Virtual Servers
Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting of cloud-based infrastructure components
Monitoring system health, report and resolving hardware and software issues
Researching new technology and making recommendations
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related technical discipline required.
At least three (3) years of experience with systems administration experience
Experience with Patch Management
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, or other cloud-based or virtualized infrastructure environment
Experience with SAFe or Agile Scrum processes.
Experience configuring and maintaining Windows and/or Linux systems
Experience with Microsoft Core Technologies: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Experience with AWS-native services like EC2, ELB, EBS, IAM or equivalent services in Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, or a VMWare Virtualized Environment
Good oral and written communications skills with experience in delivering/presenting to customer are a plus.
Other related experience with fielded systems and mission/system operations along with system sustainment for high system availability requirements a plus.
Clearance: To be considered, you must have a current and active TS w/ a current SSBI; and ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
