As a Mechanical Engineer, You Will:

If you are a Mechanical Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Louisville, Kentucky location, you will provide mechanical design, detail, costing, prototype testing, tolerance studies, statistics and engineering expertise.
WHO YOU ARE:
- New Product Development - design new products to meet functional performance and cost requirements.
- Create and evaluate prototypes per project scope requirements.
- Support marketing to identify the appropriate design inputs and target specifications.
- Develop and refine concept design layouts and create drawings.
- Optimize designs; create drawings and BOMs for production.
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure product performance requirements are met.
- Provide technical guidance to drafters, detailers, and designers.
You convert ideas into actions and produce results with new initiatives. You make new connections and build relationships in other areas and teams. You are open to change and continue to learn and experience new opportunities. You research initiatives and try new approaches.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Two years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Experiencing using 3D modeling software for conceptualizing and generating fabrication file formats (.stp, .stl, .dwg, etc.)
- Understanding of component fits, tolerances and their importance in machine design
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, machining and plastic molding
- 3D CAD, FEA software, PowerPoint, and Excel experience
